Why Drimin

Hydration, designed for the way you actually live.

Most water apps shout. Drimin whispers. Every feature is shaped to fit into the background of your day — and to stay completely on your device.

The living orb

A custom-painted wave fills your progress in real time. Smooth, weightless, addictive in the good way.

Home-screen widgets

A glance-able summary widget and a one-tap quick-actions widget. Log a sip without unlocking the app.

Launcher quick actions

Long-press the icon to add 250 ml, 500 ml, or open stats. Branded vector shortcuts that look native everywhere.

Mindful reminders

Gentle nudges on your schedule. They respect Do-Not-Disturb windows and stop the moment you hit your goal.

Encrypted at rest

SQLCipher-backed local database with a 256-bit key stored in the Android Keystore. Your sips never leave your phone.

No internet permission

Drimin doesn't request the INTERNET permission at all. Even if it wanted to phone home, the OS wouldn't let it.

Material You + 8 accents

Adopts your wallpaper palette on Android 12+, or pick one of eight calibrated swatches built around water.

Hide from recents

Optional FLAG_SECURE mode blanks the preview when you switch apps. A small touch with a big feel.

How it works

A small ritual you'll actually keep.

Open it, tap once, get on with your day. The rest is taken care of behind the scenes.

Drimin onboarding screen welcoming a new user.

Start in under a minute.

Pick your daily goal, choose a cup size you love, and you're done. Drimin builds your encrypted database on first launch and locks the key away in the Android Keystore. There's no account because there's nothing to account for.

  • Sensible default goals based on common guidelines.
  • Custom cup sizes you can tweak any time.
  • Optional reminders if you'd like a nudge.

Tap. The orb listens.

One tap on the floating button logs a sip. A second wave ripples through the orb, your remaining-to-goal recalculates, and your streak updates — locally, instantly, without a single network call.

  • Preset chips for the cups you actually use.
  • Custom amounts for that giant mug at work.
  • Undo on the timeline if you fat-finger a number.

Stay logged in, without the app.

Two native widgets sit on your home screen. The summary widget shows today's progress ring; the action widget puts +250 ml, +500 ml and Stats one tap away. Both update instantly from inside the app and survive reboots.

  • Resizable and theme-aware.
  • No flicker — written in Kotlin against AppWidgetProvider.
  • Works perfectly on launchers that respect Android shortcuts.
Drimin monthly statistics with bar chart and per-day breakdown.

Beautiful stats. Honest numbers.

Week and month views are built from the same encrypted store. The chart shows every day of the period, your breakdown puts today on top, and the metrics — total, daily average, goal-met days, success rate — never lie about an empty day.

  • Week view auto-resets every Monday.
  • Month view spans the 1st through the last of the calendar month.
  • Tap to jump from a chart bar to that day's intakes.

Tune it to your day.

Pick reminder intervals, a Do-Not-Disturb window, the reminder sound and whether to vibrate. Choose a theme, an accent and whether to opt into Material You. Then turn on the privacy screen lock and tell the OS to stop optimizing the app's battery for rock-solid reminders.

  • One notification channel per sound — no OS sound caching.
  • Stop reminders the moment you hit your goal.
  • Direct shortcut to battery-exemption screen.

Questions

Things people ask first.

Is Drimin really free?

Yes. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads. Drimin is built as a focused tool for one job, and that job is done well at price zero.

Does it work without internet?

It's the only way it works. Drimin never requests the INTERNET permission. Everything — your intakes, your settings, your widgets — lives on your device.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

It's gone. Drimin's allowBackup flag is set to false and the custom data-extraction rules opt out of Google cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. There is no copy anywhere else.

Why Android only?

Drimin leans on Android-specific primitives — app widgets, launcher shortcuts, the Keystore, WorkManager, custom notification channels per sound. An iOS version would be a different app, not a port. For now we'd rather do one platform really well.

Do reminders actually work in the background?

Yes — Drimin uses WorkManager with periodic scheduling and a one-tap shortcut to exempt itself from battery optimization on aggressive OEM skins. Once you grant that, reminders are reliable.

Can I export my data?

Not in the first release. Drimin's "no internet" posture means any export would be a local file. We're designing a clean import/export flow now — see the blog for updates.
